Danbury Museum Is Closing For Winter
DANBURY â Danbury Museum & Historical Society will close for the winter season from December 29 through May 1.
This second annual winter closing will allow staff and trustees of the museum to work on many of the ongoing projects at the museum, including the restoration of the 1785 Rider House, the creation of a new permanent exhibit on hatting in Dodd Hat Shop, the renovation of the museumâs rental property at 47 Main Street, and the restoration of the Marian Anderson Studio.
The museum expects to have each project substantially completed during 2001.
In addition, museum staff will use the down time to create a book on the history of Danbury, to be tentatively released by Arcadia Publishing by mid-2001.
While the museum will be closed, the historical societyâs research library and museum gift show will be open for public visits on Saturdays from 1 to 4 pm.
For more information call the museum at 743-5200 or visit www.danburyhistorical.org.
