The Friends of the Newtown Community Center announce the return of their festive Sip ‘n Shop Event, happening on Friday, December 6, at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street, from 5:45 until 9:30 pm.

This annual holiday-themed event offers the perfect opportunity to shop from over 40 unique artisans and vendors, all while enjoying wine, beer, and spirit tastings from more than 10 local beverage vendors. Attendees can even place orders for their favorite beverages during the event, ensuring they’re ready for holiday celebrations and gifting.

This year’s Sip ‘n Shop is sponsored by Taunton Wine and Liquors of Newtown.

The event is open exclusively to adults ages 21 and over.

Community Center Director Matt Ariniello shared his excitement about the event, saying, “This is the perfect chance to get your holiday shopping done early while supporting local merchants and the Community Center. From clothing and jewelry to cookware, there’s something for everyone. Plus, visitors will have the unique opportunity to sample a variety of wines, beers, and specialty cocktails — and place orders for convenient pick-up the following week.”

An online silent auction kicked off on December 1, allowing participants to bid on exciting items before the event begins. The Raffle Room is back by popular demand, featuring a selection of amazing themed baskets to win.

VIP Admission is $45 (advance purchase only) and includes early entry from 5:45 to 7 pm, exclusive specialty cocktail offerings, light hors d’oeuvres, door prizes, and a sneak preview of the vendors.

General admission is $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

Tickets are limited, so attendees are encouraged to purchase in advance to secure their spot at this popular event.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Newtown Community Center to assist with community center scholarships, free community programming, and community center enhancements.
