William E. Lewis
William E. Lewis, 65, of Chestertown, Md., died peacefully November 20, at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville, Md., surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 23, 1951, in Danbury, and was a son of Jean (Holland) and Claude Lewis."For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?... Mr Lewis, aÃÂ Newtown High School graduate, was united in marriage to Dorian (Smith) Lewis on February 14, 1986, in Newtown, where they made their home for several years. A devoted family man and true to himself, Mr Lewis was an artist and craftsman who put his heart and soul into everything he touched and everyone he met. He was loved by many in his community, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Those honoring his memory include his wife; his children, Raven Winter Lewis and Kether William Lewis; his mother; his sister Sandra Lewis Phillips; and brother James Lewis. Several relatives in Australia also survive Mr Lewis. His father predeceased him.
