Once again Thanksgiving morning in Newtown was filled with runners and walkers who helped support the Cyrenius H. Booth Library in this year's 7th annual Newtown Turkey Trot. We had fantastic weather and our largest turnout ever with a record 1,500-plus participants on the course. The C.H. Booth Turkey Trot Committee would like to acknowledge the generosity of the many organizations and individuals that contributed to making this event so successful and continuing this great Thanksgiving tradition. The proceeds from our sponsors, donors, and race registrants all combined to provide an important source of revenue to our beloved library.

We thank the Board of Education for the use of the middle and Hawley Schools. The Police Department, as always, ensured the public's safety. Newtown High school provided four wonderful national anthem singers. The library staff offered support throughout the planning and execution of the event.
