Town Players 2009 Mainstage Season

Town Players of Newtown have finalized the schedule for the three productions the local theater company will present for its 2009 Mainstage season.

Caught in the Net, a comic farce by Ray Cooney, the sequel to Run for Your Wife, which was staged by Town Players in 2000, will open the season in May.

Town Players will continue its summer Shakespeare tradition with a production of The Merry Wives of Windsor in July.

And then for November-December, the company will offer a Christmas spectacular to celebrate the holiday season.

Tickets are now available for Town Players of Newtown’s 2009 mainstage season. Perfect for gift giving during the holiday season, the local theater company has created several choices available to fit any budget:

*Season ticket for Friday and Saturday evening performances only (all three shows): $48, which offers a 15 percent saving off the individual ticket price;

*Season ticket for Sunday matinee performances only (all three shows): $40, which is a ten percent saving off the individual ticket price; or

*Individual tickets good for any performance throughout the season: $15 to $18, depending on whether the subscription is for evening or matinee shows.

Evening and matinee season tickets are not interchangeable.

Memberships are also available at a cost of $19. Benefits of Town Players membership include free admission to one mainstage performance of your choice in 2009, discounted admission for events not a part of the mainstage production schedule, and invitations to member events and parties.

Members are not obligated to volunteer, but member participation is welcome in all productions, both onstage and behind the scenes.

Tickets and memberships can be purchased during intermission and immediately following the show during TP’s British Panto Puss in Boots, a family holiday show that opens this weekend and will continue Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons until December 20.
