âMessiahâ Sing-Along, Dec. 13
TRUMBULL â The public is invited to join Fanfare Consort for a special Messiah Sing-Along on Saturday, December 13. The event will be at St Stephen Church, 6938 Main Street in Trumbull, and will begin at 8 pm.
Professional soloists, including sopranos Claudia Rosenthal and Nancy Upton, mezzo-sopranos Meagan Johnson and Nadine Kulberg, tenor and conductor Robyn Gangi, and baritone Jason Steigerwalt, will lead the singing of Part I and the âHallelujah Chorus.â
Fanfare Consort, Connecticutâs own critically acclaimed Early Music Ensemble, under Artistic Director Thom Freas, will accompany Handelâs masterpiece on historically accurate instruments.
Attendees are welcome to bring their own score or borrow one from the consort.
Admission is $15 adults, $10 students and seniors, with a maximum of $30 for families.
Fanfare Consortâs concerts are presented on historically accurate instruments in order to heighten awareness of an earlier performance style.
Concerts are presented as lecture-demonstration performances that are both educational and entertaining and include explanations of the music and a comparison of the historical instruments and their modern counterparts.
