Free Performance By Principal Harpist

SOUTHBURY — Harpist Wendy Lucas will present a musical program on Thursday, December 14, at 7:15 pm, at East Hill Woods auditorium.

Ms Lucas has appeared in concert throughout the United States. She has performed at World Harp Congress in Seattle, Wash., and Paris, France, and has performed for Queen Sirkit of Thailand and First Lady Hillary Clinton.

She presented her New York debut at Carnegie Hall as a winner of the Artists International Chamber Music Competition. She was also a winner of American Harp Society’s Concert Artist Program and placed second in National Flute Association’s 2000 Chamber Music Competition.

She is the principal harpist with Norwalk and Ridgefield Symphony Orchestras, and has performed with National Orchestral Association at Carnegia Hell, Orchestra New England at Tully Hall, and on CBS Records and with US Coast Guard Band for a live broadcast on National Public Radio.

Ms Lucas, who began studying harp at age seven, was a scholarship student at Juilliard School of Music, where she received her bachelor and master’s degrees. Her harp and flute CD, Sounds of the Seine, is available on the Delos label.
