Fraser Woods Montessori School Head of School Myriam Woods welcomed her entire school community to a gathering on Tuesday, November 25, to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The assembly included a reading of a Native American poem “The Four Elements” by students, sharing the history of Thanksgiving, students performing the story of Stone Soup, and each grade level offering things for which they are thankful.

For the performance of Stone Soup, students portrayed a small family that came to a village and shared the recipe for a soup that included a stone and each member of the village sharing ingredients for the soup. Students at the school stood up to add their celery, carrots, or onions to the pot.

Things the students shared that they are thankful for included “my brother,” “Fraser Woods Montessori School,” “a good education in all subjects,” “hospitals,” “soldiers who serve out country,” “electricity,” “music,” “nature,” and “family vacations.”

Bread was baked by students earlier in the day to share with each other following the assembly.
