Storm Soccer Team Wipes Out Competition in Fall Finale

Newtown’s U11 boys’ soccer team, the Storm, won the Somers Fall Finale Tournament with a dominating performance — four shutouts — in Somers, NY on November 21. The Storm defeated Mahopac, Somers, Ossining, and Brewster. The offense of Hayes Kelchner, Shane Gattey, Sebastian Forero, Austin Engler, Sam Grossano, Robert Katrinak, and Thomas Leuci played well and Connery Mayer, Forest Weatherby, and Jamie Cocheran played shut-down defense. The Storm lost just one game throughout the fall season.
