One Of The Best Holiday Shows Yet Is Happening
At The Spinning Wheel Inn In Redding
REDDING â One of the best features of the (now) traditional show at the Spinning Wheel Inn has always been the creativity of Peter and Karen Randazzo.
The show has a revolving cast, so that at any of the (many) shows one of three actors/singers can play one of the five roles. This yearâs show, and The Family Gathersâ¦, was written and directed by Mrs Randazzo. Mr Randazzo, meanwhile, has once again proven that in addition to being a talented actor and a good singer, he also writes and arranges some terrific music. âWhy Canât We Get Long at Christmas,â for which he wrote both the music and lyrics, ought to be available to the public as a single.
As in past years there is wonderful sharing of beloved holiday songs wherein the audience joins in at the end of the third act. This yearâs story has a stronger message of understanding attached to it. There is humor, pathos and song. It is understandable why this show always draws crowds.
The food remains fair fare, save for the mixed berry pie and coffee; they were quite fine. It is a pleasant way to share the holiday spirit and savor the nice people one meets at the banquet table.
(Evening and/or matinee shows are presented almost daily until December 29, including a matinee and evening show on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Tickets, which include a full sit-down dinner, range from $54.50 to $69.50 including tax and gratuities. Tickets are subject to a handling charge, and there is a $5 surcharge for December 25 shows.
