Presnell, Sr

Frank Presnell, Sr, 69, husband of Barbara (Stefurak) Presnell of Carol Ann Drive, Newtown, died November 28 at his home.

He was born in Blountsville, Tenn., May 12, 1935, a son of the late Samuel and Florence (Stines) Presnell. Frank served in the US Army following the Korean War.

A resident of Newtown since 1950, Frank was employed as a custodian for many years by the Newtown Board of Education until his retirement. He was a member of VFW Post #308 in Newtown.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Richard Goessinger of Newtown, Gwyn Zetah and her husband Bill of Hillsboro, N.M., Janet Dooner and her husband Edward of Toms River, N.J., Cathy Simpson and her husband Wade of Danbury, Bill Goessinger and his wife Amy of Bethel, Frank Presnell, Jr, and his wife Kathy of Bethel, Todd Presnell and his wife Kelly of Torrington, and Hal Presnell of New Milford; several grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Jones of Meriden and Faye Miles of Southbury; and a brother, Paul Presnell of Naugatuck. Frank was predeceased by seven brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held November 30 in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Cremation was private.
