Youâre Invited To The Holiday Festival
To the Editor:
The 26th annual Holiday Festival presented by Newtown Savings Bank to benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services will be held this Sunday, December 4. It will feature a blend of prior yearsâ activities and some new and interesting ones. You can still see a performance of The Nutcracker Suite, have a cup of cider and a scone at the Teddy Bear (formerly Victorian) Tea, see the Gingerbread House Contest, and try to win a holiday tree at the Festival of Trees.
But there are some significant additions to this yearâs event. Town Historian Dan Cruson will lead guided walks of Main Street from the flagpole to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, talking about the families, the scandals, and the architecture of days gone by. Stray Kats Theatre Company will present three one-act seasonal plays at 4 pm in the Edmond Town Hall Theater. And, Rob Frangione and Newtown Youth Academy will be holding a free-throw contest in the gym at Edmond Town Hall.Â
So we hope youâll come join us this Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm and get in the holiday spirit. If you havenât bought tickets ahead, you can purchase them the day of the event at Edmond Town Hall or the C.H. Booth Library. For more information, call us at 203-270-4335. And remember, proceeds from this event go to help Newtown Youth & Family Services continue providing services to Newtown families and children without regard to ability to pay.
Thank you,
