Waterbury Symphony Orchestra And Nutmeg Ballet

To Present Two Performances Of ‘The Nutcracker’

WATERBURY — Waterbury Symphony Orchestra and Nutmeg Ballet will once again collaborate on a presentation of Tchaikovsky’s best loved ballet, The Nutcracker.

Two performances will be given, on Saturday, December 10, at 1 and 5 pm, at The Palace Theater, 100 East Main Street.

Guest conductor Emil de Cou will lead the 50-piece orchestra. World-class dancers Damian Woetzel and Alexandra Ansanelli and Litchfield Children’s Choir will be featured in the performances, with opulent sets and costuming in the beautifully renovated theater.

Tickets for either performance are available from the Palace Theater box office by calling 203-755-4700. The theater’s box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, and  Saturday, 10 am to noon.

Tickets are priced as follows: Premium Seating, $75; Preferred Seating, $50; Reserved Seating, $25; Student Preferred Seating, $35; and Student Reserved Seating, $10.

A Family Package with two adult and 2 children’s tickets, is available for $75 for Upper Balcony seating, and $125 for Orchestra or Lower Mezzanine seating.

For an additional fee of $15 patrons are invited to attend “Clara’s Tea with Dr Drosselmeyer” between performances from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Poli Club (on the second floor of the Palace Theater). A Champagne Gala will be held in the Poli Club immediately following the 5 pm performance, priced at $25 per person. For reservations to either reception contact the WSO at 203-574-4283.

To ensure that this cultural opportunity is available to deserving children and families, the WSO invites participation in “The Nutcracker Prince Program.” A donation of $10 to the WSO Nutcracker Prince Fund will buy a ticket for a deserving child or $75 will sponsor an entire family.

Donations may be sent to Waterbury Symphony Orchestra, PO Box 1762, Waterbury CT 06721. The entire amount of the donation will go to purchase tickets, which will be turned over to community service organizations for distribution. Call WSO for information.
