To Present Two Performances Of âThe Nutcrackerâ
WATERBURY â Waterbury Symphony Orchestra and Nutmeg Ballet will once again collaborate on a presentation of Tchaikovskyâs best loved ballet, The Nutcracker.
Two performances will be given, on Saturday, December 10, at 1 and 5 pm, at The Palace Theater, 100 East Main Street.
Guest conductor Emil de Cou will lead the 50-piece orchestra. World-class dancers Damian Woetzel and Alexandra Ansanelli and Litchfield Childrenâs Choir will be featured in the performances, with opulent sets and costuming in the beautifully renovated theater.
Tickets for either performance are available from the Palace Theater box office by calling 203-755-4700. The theaterâs box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to noon.
Tickets are priced as follows: Premium Seating, $75; Preferred Seating, $50; Reserved Seating, $25; Student Preferred Seating, $35; and Student Reserved Seating, $10.
A Family Package with two adult and 2 childrenâs tickets, is available for $75 for Upper Balcony seating, and $125 for Orchestra or Lower Mezzanine seating.
For an additional fee of $15 patrons are invited to attend âClaraâs Tea with Dr Drosselmeyerâ between performances from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Poli Club (on the second floor of the Palace Theater). A Champagne Gala will be held in the Poli Club immediately following the 5 pm performance, priced at $25 per person. For reservations to either reception contact the WSO at 203-574-4283.
To ensure that this cultural opportunity is available to deserving children and families, the WSO invites participation in âThe Nutcracker Prince Program.â A donation of $10 to the WSO Nutcracker Prince Fund will buy a ticket for a deserving child or $75 will sponsor an entire family.
