And Familiar Faces

The article “Fashion in the Field” (The Bee, November 25, 2005), was quite interesting, especially the photo of the 1951 Girls Soccer Team. I was an eighth grader and knew, at least by sight, many on the team.

I think it’s nice when people in these “old” photos can be identified, and I offer the following: from left, row 1,  MaryLou Lane, Evelyn Hrivnak, Pat McMahon, Janet Berglund, Marilyn Platt, Sally Tomlinson, Betty Cox, Gertrude Ferris, Katy Cavanaugh. Row 2: Jane Slocum, Marilyn Burr, Barbara Bradshaw, DellaMae Conger, Marie Ferris, Cynthia Eaton, Nancy Oberstadt, Ellen Craig, Elsie McGrath, Theresa Gilbert. Third Row: Judy Gutman, Shirley Weeks (assistant managers), Florence Lockwood, Martha Jones, Patricia Zymbaluk, Bernelle Curtis, Kathleen McMahon, Joan Milot, Phyllis O’Dell, Mabel Burr, Mary Mead (manager), and Miss Anderson (coach).

Can’t help with the older photos, but it is nice to have copies of yearbooks from years ago.

And that blue “prison” uniform was absolutely the pits!
