Mr and Mrs William Nye

Marisa Burnham-Bestor, daughter of Mary Burnham and Jack Bestor of Sandy Hook, and William G. Nye, son of William and Gloria Nye, New Fairfield, were joined in marriage on October 22 at The Spinning Wheel Inn in Redding. The Rev Linda Hansen officiated at the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an organza Maggie Sottero gown with Swavorski crystals and carried Black Magic roses accented with ivy.

Matron of honor was Shanna Wheeler of Portland, Ore., with Cathy Hall of Newtown, Jessica Carnrick of Southbury, and Meredith Gethin-Jones of Wilton serving as bridesmaids. The flower girl was Kaiya Gulak of New Milford. The attendants wore strapless wine-colored Jordan dresses and carried bouquets of Black Magic roses and freesia.

John Larrabure of Waterbury was the best man. Ushers were Sam Falsetti of Tampa, Fla., Jaysun Pickup of New Milford, and Josh Granton of Middlebury.

A reception at The Spinning Wheel Inn followed the ceremony.

Mrs Nye is a graduate of Newtown High School and of Bates College. She is currently a student at Harvard Law School.

Mr Nye is a graduate of New Fairfield High School and attended Western Connecticut State University. He is employed by Accurate Answer as a phone operator.

The couple is at home in Newtown following a wedding trip to Anse Chastanet on St Lucia.
