Mitten Tree Project Underway At Police Station

Police are conducting their annual “Mitten Tree” garment collection for the needy in the lobby of the police station at 3 Main Street.

The public is asked to donate new unwrapped hats, mittens, and scarves for the project, which runs until the end of December. The items may be left at the Christmas tree in the police station lobby. The station is open around the clock.

 The donated garments will be given to the town’s social services department that will distribute them to local needy families. It is the fifth holiday season that police have held the garment collection.
