How About An Edmond Town Hall Seat For Christmas?
How About An
Edmond Town Hall Seat
For Christmas?
To the Editor:
As Iâve gotten older, my needs are fewer. I donât need any more sweaters, socks, or shirts. My CD collection seems complete. Although I still canât seem to get enough books, what I appreciate most in the way of a gift is something that people have made or something that has permanent value. I suspect there are many Newtowners who feel the same way as I do.
One gift that Newtowners might choose to buy this Christmas is a seat in the Edmond Town Hall. Costing $300 each, these seats would be a lasting memorial to a person, family, group, or company the plaques on their backs are dedicated to. Sponsored by the Newtown Lions Club as its major tercentennial project, there are fewer than 100 seats left to be sold out of the 411 seats on the main floor. This is a project that is being done entirely privately thus no tax money will be spent, which is good news for Newtownâs taxpayers.
If you are looking for a gift for that person who âhas everythingâ or for a present that will be a lasting memorial, why not think of buying an Edmond Town Hall seat?
Sincerely,
Gordon M. Williams
