Electrical Outage
An electrical equipment failure near the Ram Pasture caused an outage that cut electric service to 48 Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) customers early on November 29.
CL&P spokeswoman Mary Ingarra said the outage occurred about 5 am. The electrical failure resulted in a power loss at the traffic signal at the four-way intersection of Main Street, Sugar Street, South Main Street, and Glover Avenue. Police were positioned in the area, as were temporary stop signs at each leg of the intersection.
A CL&P crew repaired the equipment damage atop a utility pole on the east side of South Main Street, just south of the four-way intersection.
Power was restored to the area by 7 am, Ms Ingarra said.
