Founder of Danbury Ethnic Festival
Elaine M. âPegâ (Polglaze) Weston, 78, of South Main Street, Newtown, devoted wife of William Weston, died at Danbury Hospital, November 27. She was born in London on December 19, 1926, daughter of Alfred and Sue Polglaze. She served with the Womenâs Royal Air Force during World War II.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, William, she will be sadly missed by her son, Stewart C. Weston of Danbury; her daughter, Elaine S. Miller and her husband, Bill, of Cornwall; her three grandchildren, Sharon Sebastian and Daniel and Nathan Sadowski; her two great-grandchildren, Mason and Ethan Sebastian. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Sheba.
Mrs Weston made her home in the area in 1957. She worked as a purchasing agent for Rapid Electric Co., Amphenol and Moslet Safe. She enjoyed bowling in both Danbury and Brookfield, played golf, and loved to knit and make crafts. She was an avid gardener of English-style gardens. She was one of the founders and organizers of the Danbury Ethnic Festival.
Funeral services will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
 The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
