Cancer Society Car Raffle

DANBURY  — For 19 years, volunteers from the American Cancer Society have organized a car raffle to benefit community services and programs for cancer patients and their families. 

 This year’s raffle will run through March 5 at 5 pm when the winning raffle ticket will be selected.  A well-equipped 2006 BMW 325 xi is the grand prize.

“With the help of the community, cancer survivors, and raffle participants, the car raffle raised over $137,000 last year,” according to Jean Cummings, community executive for development for the American Cancer Society.  This year, the car raffle hopes to sell all 15,000 tickets to raise money for the fight against cancer. 

Located at the Danbury Fair Mall, on the lower level behind the elevator near Macy’s, Gap Kids and Limited Too, volunteers are selling tickets for $10 each, with proceeds directly funding the American Cancer Society’s programs of cancer research, advocacy, detection, education, and patient services.
