CACLD Adopts New Name
EAST NORWALK â The Connecticut Association for Children with Learning Disabilities has changed its name. It is now known as the Connecticut Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities, a change made to more accurately reflect the constituency that it serves.
Sandra Gregory, CACLD board president, said the name change came about because the public did not realize that the non-profit organization also serves adults that have learning disabilities.
âNow we know that a learning disability is not outgrown,â she said. âWe want these adults, their relatives, teachers and friends to know that CACLD is here for them.â
The change will not affect any CACLD program or services. The office at 25 Van Zant Street in Norwalk and the acronym CACLD will remain the same.
