Johanna Bombaci of Newtown received honors at the close of the first marking period at St Joseph High School. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Wayne Bombaci.

Christopher J. Carolan, son of Dorrie and Kevin Carolan of Newtown, recently received the Jimmie Jones Fund award, a $1,000 renewable four-year scholarship. He is a 2000 graduate of Newtown High School, where he was captain of Cross-Country and Indoor Track & Field. Mr Carolan was a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America.

He is now a freshman at St Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt. Mr Carolan continues to volunteer at a Burlington hospital and is a member of the student government association.
