Winter Overnight Parking Ban Now In Effect
Winter Overnight Parking Ban
Now In Effect
With the advent of winter weather, police remind motorists of a town ordinance that prohibits overnight vehicle parking on local roads in order to facilitate snow removal.
Police said that the law prohibits people from parking vehicles on local roads between sunset and sunrise from November 15 through March 15.
Vehicles that are parked along streets or left unattended there often interfere with the townâs ability to remove snow after storms, according to police.
If such vehicles pose a nuisance in terms of snow removal, they may be towed away by police at the expense of the vehiclesâ owners. Also, such towed vehicles may be subject to vehicle storage charges.
Violating the town parking ordinance may result in a $49 fine, police said.
