Holiday Weekend Events

With the completion of Thanksgiving, we are well into the busiest weeks of the year. The first weekend in December is traditionally full of activity, and 2007 is no exception.

Detailed previews of many of these events can be found within this week’s issue of The Newtown Bee, but here is an overview of the special events happening in our beautiful and busy town this weekend.

Friday

November 30

Annual Newtown Tree Lighting, 6:30 pm, Ram Pasture, Elm Drive at Hawley Road, caroling will lead in to annual lighting of town’s Christmas Tree, also visits with Santa and Mrs Claus.

Saturday

December 1

Newtown Rotary Club 47th Annual Pancake Day, 8 am–1 pm, Edmond Town Hall Alexandria Room, $7 adults, $3 ages 10 and under, Amber Alerts IDs will also be available during event.

Garden Club of Newtown Annual Greens Sale, 9 am–2 pm, Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street; 270-1108.

December 2
