Tag-A-Gift trees have been set up at three locations for those interested in buying toys for this year’s Newtown Fund Holiday Basket Program wish lists. Newtown Savings Bank branch in Sand Hill Plaza; Wesley Learning Center, behind Newtown United Methodist Church at 92 Church Hill Road; and Union Savings Bank, 1 Commerce Road, each has a Tag-A-Gift tree. Residents interested in participating in this program can pick up ornaments with requested items at Newtown Savings Bank in Sand Hill Plaza, Wesley Learning Center in Sandy Hook, or Union Savings Bank at 1 Commerce Road. Items being purchased for the holiday basket program must then be dropped off back at the location of the Tag-A-Gift tree. This point was unclear in a story in last week’s Newtown Bee.

Due to misinformation supplied to The Newtown Bee last week, the incorrect ticket prices for the December 2 Newtown Choral Society Winter Holiday Concert was printed in a number of locations. The correct prices for Sunday’s concert are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors and children ages 12 and under.

The telephone number residents should call to make an appointment for Newtown VNA’s free cholesterol screenings next week was incorrect in last week’s Bee. To make an appointment for the December 6 screenings call 426-3563.
