To my neighbors at Old Farm Hill Road:

I ask the many residents of the area: who told them that the town open space might never be used for ball fields? When this hotly contested subdivision was proposed, revised and resubmitted, one of the positive elements of the proposal was that the open space, required to be given to the town with any subdivision, was suitable for ball fields.

Who do they think will be coming to play Babe Ruth ball? Won’t the drivers be parents of children just like themselves? The lack of knowledge of history and the self-centered disregard of community is what is causing the problem here.

I want to thank Larry Haskel and Barbara Kasbarian and all the other Park and Rec volunteers and employees for the wonderful job they do for this town. My husband and I and our children have certainly benefited from the many, many townwide programs provided for this community. These programs keep all our property values strong.
