Pamper Yourself For The Holidays

WATERBURY — Brass Mill Center mall anchor JC Penney, and The Be Well Center of Waterbury Hospital, also located at the Waterbury mall, are joining forces to make the holiday season a healthy and glamorous one for area women.

During the month of December, the Salon at JC Penney will offer women a complimentary manicure (a $15 value) when they have their mammograms at The Be Well Center.

“It’s all part of an effort to encourage women to take care of themselves during the busy holiday season,” said Sheila Hogan, Director of The Be Well Center of Waterbury Hospital. “This is an opportunity for women to get an important yearly test, and then pamper themselves with a manicure for a special holiday party or gathering.”

The Be Well Center, part of the non-profit Waterbury Hospital, offers screening mammography Monday through Friday from 9 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. No appointment is necessary. Most major insurance programs, including Medicare, are accepted.

The center offers free mammograms to women with no insurance or a high deductible. A physician prescription for the exam is no longer necessary; however, the center does require the name of a primary care physician who will receive the results of the exam.
