The choirs of Trinity Church will present a Service of Lessons and Carols for Advent on the second Sunday of Advent, December 5, at 5 pm. This service focuses on the Old Testament prophecies and their partial New Testament fulfillment in the readings. The readings are enlightened by hymns and carols, old and new.

The Advent Carol Service is modeled on the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, developed at Truro Cathedral in England earlier in this century, itself based on the medieval Christmas vigil service. Trinity’s service is intended as a preparation for its Christmas celebration and is becoming, after three years, a beloved Trinity event.

Trinity invites everyone to join in its Advent pilgrimage in words and music. A free-will offering will be collected for the benefit of the Family Counseling Center.
