Business name: Boost Fitness

Address: 228 South Main Street

Owners: Emily DiMarco

What is your business background? I went to college in Charleston, S.C., for business administration, hospitality and tourism. I purchased Boost Cycling in 2018. The business made it through the pandemic, but I wanted the business to sustain me so I didn’t need another job, and there was no room to grow at the old location. I was born and raised in Newtown, and knew the Sand Hill Plaza, and was excited to move there. The move benefits customers too, as there is now more than just cycling and I can bring in new customers.

What is your business’ focus? I want Boost Fitness to be a one-stop shop for health and wellness. We offer indoor cycling, cross training, yoga, a tanning bed, and more. Customers do not need to go to a mall or other location. This is a boutique fitness location, which is more welcoming than a standard gym. I know all my clients, my instructors know all the clients, and we have a better sense of community.

What is something important to you that readers know about your business? Not only do we cater to those who are avidly into fitness, but our customers of all ages, up to 85. We don’t just offer workouts. We offer LuLu Lemon retail offerings, and we have the only tanning bed within a 15 to 20 minute drive.

Hours: 5:45 to 8 am and noon to 6:30 pm Monday through Friday; and 8 am to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday
