Orest D'Eramo

Orest "Orbie" D'Eramo, 88, of Hamden and formerly of Trumbull, beloved husband of Elsie Suffoletti D'Eramo, died suddenly at home on November 23. Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., on June 22, 1928, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna Silvestri D'Eramo.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Elsie, his children and their spouses, Eric and Suzanne D'Eramo of Sandy Hook, Michael and Christine D'Eramo of Florida, Gail and Carl Melkus of Orange, and Gary D'Eramo of Bridgeport; ten cherished grandchildren, Erica D'Eramo, Briana Duhan, Megan D'Eramo, Brett Collins, Stephanie Melkus Hashemi, Ian Collins, Jillian D'Eramo, Caitlin D'Eramo, Lauren Melkus, and Luke Collins; his sisters, Nellie DelGais of Bridgeport and Dolly Salce of Trumbull; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews, survive him. His daughter Lisa D'Eramo Collins; brothers Trent and Peter D'Eramo; and sister Gloria Ferrara predeceased him.

Mr D'Eramo had been the owner and operator of United Heating and Plumbing Contractors for more than 50 years.

He was an avid golfer, with St Rita's Knights of Columbus, and bowler who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends.

Friends were invited to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial in St Rita Church, Hamden, on November 28. Interment will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
