Karen Bogartz

Karen A. Bogartz, 69, of Danbury, beloved wife of Robert J. Walsh, died at Regional Hospice and Home Care Center on November 22. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Josephine and Joseph Zoino.

Her son, Adam Bogartz, and his wife, Michelle, of Newtown; her beloved granddaughter, Kaiya Bogartz; her daughter, Rachel Bogartz of Unionville; her sister, JoAnn Mastrodomenico, and husband, James, of Copiaque, N.Y.; her brother, Terence Zoino, of Houston; and her cousin survive her.

She graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn and Harpur College in Binghamton, N.Y., where she received her Bachelor Degree. She taught school in the Newtown, Danbury, and Brookfield and had a great love for reading and cooking. She always looked forward to going to the movies with her close friends, "the ladies of the evening," and trips to the casino with her cousin.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury, on Tuesday, November 29, at 10 am.

Interment will be private.
