Tree Lighting & Holiday Festival In Sandy Hook

Residents and business owners in Sandy Hook are organizing Sandy Hook Village Tree Lighting & Holiday Festival for Saturday, December 6.

The public is invited to join in any and all of the planned activities. The day’s events will culminate with the lighting of the Sandy Hook Village Holiday Tree at 5:30 pm.

St John’s Episcopal Church, at 5 Washington Avenue, will present an organic cafe and market from 10 am to 4 pm. There will also be an ongoing holiday wreath sale on The Glen, at the corner of Church Hill Road and Washington Avenue.

From 12:30 to 1:30 a rug hooking demonstration will be offered at The Mill Antiques, 111 Church Hill Road. Carolers will be singing and wine tastings will be offered from 3 to 6 pm at Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor, 102 Church Hill Road.

Auntie Claus will return to the village at 4:30. She will be welcoming children of all ages to The Toy Tree, on Church Hill Road for one hour, and will then walk to The Glen for the village’s tree lighting.

Karaoke Christmas carols and hot chocolate will be served at The Glen, courtesy of The Graceful Planet, from 4:30 until 5:30 pm.
