To the Editor:

 On Thursday, November 20, we again celebrated National Children’s Book Week by inviting members of the community to come to Hawley to read to our children. The children enjoyed hearing stories read by former teachers, principals, board of education members, the superintendent of schools, and even our first selectman, Mr Rosenthal.

We would like to thank the following community members for volunteering their time:

Dr Evan Pitkoff, Lisa Schwartz, Earl Gordon, Andrew Buzzi, Herb Rosenthal, Jack and Erin Quinlan, Al and Nancy Martin, Caroline Stokes, Paul Mangifico, Dr John Reed, Charles Mann, Dana Schubert, Grace Packer, Mary Tomaino, Melanie Scott, and Rich Pesce. All of those involved devoted their time and energy to help make Children’s Book Week an exciting and happy period of discovery.
