St Rose Holds Food Drive

On Saturday, November 22, the St Rose of Lima Social Concerns Committee, with a great deal of help from other parishioners, distributed the proceeds of the annual fall food and toiletries drive.

Four St Rose families were helped directly and the FAITH Food Pantry in Sandy Hook received all the food that could fit into two pickup trucks. Food was also delivered to Newtown Social Services and The Newtown Fund, and eight nonprofit service organizations in the surrounding area. All of these deliveries were made by St Rose volunteers in their own trucks and vans.

In the week previous to the distribution, St Rose parishioners had sorted, repacked, and allocated all donations to assure that each organization received the items that they most needed.
