Dana Paul Elected To Red Cross Board
Dana Paul, executive director of The Homesteads at Newtown, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Western Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross, according to Chapter Chairman Edward C. Heere.
Mr Paulâs election to the Red Cross board was precipitated by his professional background, which includes extensive knowledge of the health care industry and nonprofit agencies.
Before joining The Homesteads at Newtown in 2001, Mr Paul was the associate executive director of programs for Independent Residences in Kew Gardens, N.Y., where he supervised the day-to-day operations of ten community-based residential programs. Prior to this, he was affiliated with Village Retirement Communities, Inc in Greenville, R.I., where he was administrator for the start-up assisted living operation. In addition, he spent six years with the State Department of Retardation in Norwalk, Conn., as the coordinator of private sector and support services. In this capacity he served as the liaison between the state and private nonprofit sectors.
âDana will be a tremendous asset to the board of directors. We feel his knowledge of the health care industry and nonprofit agencies will serve us well. Weâre pleased to be working with him,â said Mr Heere.
The Homesteads, a senior rental living community in Newtown, is a catered retirement community with 100 apartments. It also has a special unit devoted to those afflicted with Alzheimerâs disease. The Homesteads is at 166 Mt Pleasant Road.
