Fire Truck Food Drive

To the Editor:

I would first like to thank the generous residents of Newtown for their support of our annual food drive. Members of the five volunteer fire companies in town stood in front of Big Y and Stop & Shop this past weekend collecting food for the FAITH food pantry. We collected over 125 boxes of food and several dozen turkeys!

I would like to thank both grocery stores for allowing us to stand in front of their stores. I would also like to thank George Powell and Rand-Whitney for the donation of boxes for the food drive. Also, to the Firehouse Eatery & Tap Room and The Villa Restaurant for their donations of pizzas to us to keep us nourished for the day.

Thank you for another successful year and I look forward to seeing everyone next year! Happy Holidays!
