NAMI Hosts Loretta Duvall

DANBURY — The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) of Danbury will be hosting a holiday gathering and educational meeting December 13, at 7:30 pm at Almost Family, 52 Federal Road. Guest of honor will be Loretta Duvall, founder of the Margaret Ray Memorial Fund.

Ms Duvall is the mother of four children, three of whom were diagnosed with schizophrenia and suffered and died from the effects of the disease. Her daughter Margaret Ray came to national attention as a result of her well-publicized trespasses at the home of entertainer David Letterman.

Ms Duvall will be speaking about her Campaign for the Brain. The campaign stresses the importance of eliminating stigma and promoting understanding of brain disorders through education.
