Adolf W. Krueger

Adolf W. Krueger, loving husband of Ida (Bacher) Krueger, of 13 Tory Lane, Newtown, passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on November 21 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family, after courageously fighting a year-long battle with kidney cancer.

Mr Krueger was born in Tempelburg, Pommern, Germany, on September 4, 1930, son of the late Adolf and Maria (Schade) Krueger. He received both his education and training of his trade in Germany. He moved to the United States in 1956, settling first in Danbury, and then moving to Newtown in 1975 where he has been a resident ever since. He became a US citizen in 1966.

Mr Krueger was the founder of A. Krueger Co., Inc., a plumbing, heating, and air conditioning company which he started in Danbury and later moved to Stony Hill, Bethel, in 1969. He ran a successful and reputable business, which led him to become a well-known and respected businessman. He will always be remembered as a true craftsman to his trade. Mr Krueger retired in 1995 when he passed on his business to his son and family. He was a member of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce until his retirement. Mr Krueger was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Danbury and since the time of his illness has received great support and love from the many caring people of Grace Christian Fellowship of Newtown.

Besides being survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ida, Mr Krueger was the beloved father of a son, Kenneth A. Krueger, and a daughter, Monica M. Fusaro and her husband, Joseph A. Fusaro, Jr, all of Newtown. Above all he was the cherished Opa of two granddaughters, Jessica E. and Madison A. Fusaro, both of Newtown, whom he adored. He is also survived by three loving sisters, Katharine Dufner and her husband, Franz, of New Fairfield, Hanna Pfaender and her husband, Hans Herman, and Marie Luise Schwaegler and her husband, Rolf, all of Germany; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Elfriede Krueger.

Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Church, 26 West Street, Danbury, on November 27. The burial followed at Village Cemetery in Newtown.
