Thomas "Tom" Geanuracos, 68, of New Port Richey, Fla., died November 20. Mr Geanuracos was the husband of Bernice (Dixon) Geanuracos. He was born in Bridgeport, a son of Charles and Gilda (Tucci) Geanuracos of Newtown.

Mr Geanuracos grew up in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1969. He worked for Curtis Packaging in Sandy Hook from 1968 (when he was still in high school) to 1989 as an offset printer. He moved to Florida in 1989 and was employed as web printer for the St Petersburg Times until his retirement in 2008.

In addition to his wife of 47 years and his mother, his two sons and their wives, Derek and Alexandria Geanuracos of Danbury and Thomas and Kellie Geanuracos of Southbury; two brothers, George Geanuracos of Newtown and Louis Geanuracos of New Port Richey, Fla.; two sisters, Charlotte Thompson of Newtown and Maria Barna and her husband, Larry, of Danbury; and two grandchildren, Jordyn and Christian Geanuracos of Southbury, survive him. He was predeceased by his father.

Mr Geanuracos, who was known to all that knew him as the "The King," will be remembered as a great husband, father, and grandfather.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Friday, December 1, from 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, December 2, at 10:30 am, at Newtown Village Cemetery, 20 Elm Drive, Newtown.
