Mile Hill DUI
Police report they saw a vehicle traveling over the centerlines of Mile Hill Road at Fairfield Hills about 8:15 pm November 23.
Police said they stopped the vehicle and charged motorist Judith M. Douglas, 56, of Beacon Falls with driving under the influence and failure to keep to the right.
After processing, police released Douglas on a $50 bond for a December 7 appearance in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
DUI Charge
Police said they saw a Lincoln Continental being driven erratically near the intersection of South Main Street and Elm Drive about 1 am November 23 and stopped the automobile to investigate.
Police said they gave motorist Konstantino Papanikolaow, 40, of Fairfield field sobriety tests and then charged him with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right.
After processing at the police station, police released Papanikolaow on a promise to appear December 6 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Sandy Hook Collision
Police said motorist Alan G. Legros, 40, of 8 Bristle Lane, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1990 Chevrolet Corsica, bumped the rear end of a 1993 Ford Aerostar driven by Chris Pierce, 18, of 47 Toddy Hill Road at the traffic signal at the intersection of Mile Hill Road and Route 34 about 6:10 pm November 17.
Just before the collision occurred, the Ford had started to turn right, but then stopped to yield to another vehicle, police said. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Legros for following too closely.
Minivan Vs Deer
Police report motorist Peter J. Bambola, 42, of Miller Place, N.Y., was headed northbound on South Main Street near Cold Spring Road in a 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager minivan about 6:15 pm November 22, when a deer ran into the road and was struck by the minivan.
Bambola was not injured. The deer died. The minivan was towed from the scene. No enforcement action was taken.
Main Street Accident
Police said motorist Nicholas J. Tsafos, 28, of 45 Copper Creek Circle, who was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer, was headed southbound on Main Street when he stopped for a red light at Main Streetâs intersection with Route 302 about 6 pm November 22.
Southbound traffic had just started moving after the traffic light had turned green, when southbound motorist Kenneth Shafarman, 43, of Stratford, who was driving a 1993 Honda Accord, struck the Ford from behind, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Shafarman an infraction ticket on a charge of following too closely.
Police Pursuit
State police said they spotted a 15-year-old youth driving a stolen vehicle and signaled for the youth to stop, but the youth did not stop, resulting in a chase occurring on westbound Interstate-84 from Exit 15 to Exit 10 on the afternoon of November 25.
During the course of the chase, the youth rammed one state police car twice and rammed another state police car once, state police said. Both troopers received minor injuries in the collisions, state police said.
State police eventually stopped the fleeing car west of Exit 10. Inside it were two 15-year-old youths.
State police lodged charges of engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, and theft of a motor vehicle.
Because the youths are under 16, state police did not disclose their identities.
The youths were scheduled to appear in court November 27 to answer the charges.

I-84 DUI
State police said they saw motorist Patrick Straub, 23, of Danbury driving erratically on westbound Interstate-84 between Exits 11 and 10 about 12:50 am November 22.
State police said they stopped Straub west of Exit 10 and gave him field sobriety tests, which he failed. State police charged Straub with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the established lane.
Straub was released on a $500 non-surety bond for a December 4 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Bad Lane Change
Motorist Juan Torres, 77, of Southbury, who was driving a 2000 Honda Civic eastbound on Interstate-84, about one mile west of Exit 10 about 3 pm November 25, was changing lanes and struck the rear bumper of eastbound motorist Caitlin Martin, 19, of Tucson, Arkansas, who was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police said Torres violated the multiple-lane highway regulations.
Car Vs Truck
State police said motorist Erin M. Stickle, 26, of West Hollywood, Calif., who was driving a 2000 Dodge Stratus on westbound Interstate-84 near Exit 10 about 4:20 pm November 25, was involved in a motor vehicle accident with motorist Brian A. Benoit, 21, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., who was driving a 2000 Dodge pickup truck. There were no injuries. State police said Stickle was following too closely.
Interstate Accident
State police said motorist Tina Mader, 30, of Watertown, who was driving a 1995 BMW sedan, was merging into heavy traffic on eastbound Interstate-84 at the Exit 11 on-ramp about 6:15 pm November 21, when she struck a 1988 Honda sedan driven by Robert Peplow, 56, of Bristol. There were no injuries. State police said Mader failed to grant the right of way.

Three-Car Crash
State police report a three-car accident on eastbound Interstate-84, west of Exit 11, about 4:45 pm November 22.
Motorist Patricia Fernandes, 40, of New Milford, who was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Beretta, struck the rear end of a 1992 Volvo station driven by Arthur Doring, 68, of New Jersey, pushing the Volvo into the rear end of a 1999 Ford Escort driven by Darcy M. Wolcott, 24, of Woodbury. There were no injuries. State police said Fernandes was following too closely.
I-84 Contact
State police report an accident on eastbound Interstate-84 near Exit 9 in Hawleyville about 11:20 am November 21.
State police said motorist Steven H. Dworkin, 40, of Newtown, Mass., who was driving a 1996 Audi station wagon, attempted to cut in front of motorist Edgar A. Gagnon, 49, of Laredo, Texas, who was driving a Ford F-70 truck. Dworkin made the maneuver because a travel lane was ending, state police said. The Audi came into contact with the Ford in the mishap, state police said.
Exit 11 Collision
State police report a two-car accident on the Exit 11 ramp of Interstate-84 about 7:30 am November 21.
Motorist Kenneth W. Jensen, Jr, 37, of 50 Nunnawauk Road, who was driving a 1991 Chevrolet Metro, was struck from behind by motorist Abraham Ittycheriah, 33, of Danbury, who was driving a 2000 Honda Accord, state police said.
Hawleyville Accident
While traveling on westbound Interstate-84 near Exit 9 in Hawleyville about 8 am November 19, motorist Daniel Hastings, 19, of Salem, Mass., who was driving a 1997 Dodge coupe, struck the rear end of a 1997 Nissan sedan driven by Eric Schink, 35, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., state police said. There were no injuries. State police said Hastings was tailgating.
Probation Warrant
Police said they served an arrest warrant against Terrence W. Parker, 23, of 6 Violette Road, Hawleyville, about 6:45 pm November 27 at that address on a charge of violation of probation in connection with a past incident.
Police said they held Parker on a $25,000 bond for an appearance November 28 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charge.

Botsford Crash
Police said motorist Sonia Ibarrondo, 33, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 1997 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Swamp Road, attempted to make a left turn onto southbound South Main Street about 6:50 am November 27, when the Hyundai collided with a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu driven northbound on South Main Street by Maryann Tuthill, 38, of Stratford. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Ibarrondo to Danbury Hospital on a complaint of chest and arm pain, police said. The accident is under investigation.
Warrant
Police report they charged Jeffrey June, 24, of 15 Cherry Street, Sandy Hook, on a warrant November 29 listing one count of fourth-degree sexual assault. Police said June turned himself in at the police station after learning of the warrant.
Police said the arrest stems from their investigation into an October complaint from an unidentified female, which alleges that June made improper sexual contact with her.
Police said they released June from custody on a promise to appear December 13 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charge.
