Motorcyclist Hits Tree Along Mile Hill Road South
A local man was listed in good condition as a patient in Danbury Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, recuperating from multiple injuries he received in a motorcycle accident on Sunday on Mile Hill Road South.
Police said motorcyclist Richard Goessinger, 49, of 5 Carol Ann Drive was riding a 1992 Harley-Davidson southward near 59 Mile Hill Road South at about 10:45 am, when he lost control of the vehicle, veered onto the southbound road shoulder and then collided with a tree. The accident occurred near a sharp curve in the road near the bottom of a hill.
Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members transported Goessinger to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident scene.
Other details on the accident were not available. The incident is under investigation, according to police.
