WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Phillips Collection will present an Artful Evening talk on Thursday, December 13, “On the Boardwalk — Capturing the Beachside Promenade,” at 6 and 7 pm.

Fashionable vacationers strolling along the boardwalk animate numerous canvases created by artists such as Claude Monet and Eugène-Louis Boudin. Attendees will learn about the beachside promenade at the time of the impressionists and its relationship to the development of hotels, villas, and casinos along France’s seafront.
