Occupation: I started my own business two years ago, Trusted Technologies. We provide tech support to small businesses and homeowners throughout Fairfield Country. I also work with a lot of public schools in New York, since prior to starting my own business I worked in technology and education for 12 years. I have a civil engineering degree and did that for a little while, and then I moved into technology, because I enjoyed it. I enjoy helping people and technology is always changing.

My wonderful wife, Miranda, and I have been married for 23 years. She is the marketing director for the company, and she has been a great support. In addition, she has her own writing career. We have three kids. Our oldest daughter, Emma, is a junior at Smith College and she is extremely happy, because she will be going abroad next year to Oxford. We're very happy for her. Our son, Jackson, was homeschooled by my wife and graduated last year. He's doing a gap year this year and taking a class at UConn and also doing an internship at the Avielle Foundation. Our youngest daughter, Isabel, is a sophomore at Newtown High School. She enjoys horseback riding on weekends.Family:

We used to have chickens and goats. We have two small dogs, Charlie and Scout. Charlie is a cockapoo, who's very sweet and friendly. Scout is cairn terrier-Jack Russell mix and is a rescue from the south. We have a guinea pig named Dolores. My son has a spotted gecko named Leopold.Pets:

We bought our first house 23 years ago in Newtown, which was an old antique saltbox over near Castle Hill Farm. We have lived in Sandy Hook for the last 16 years and are very happy with our neighborhood. How long have you lived in Newtown?

What do you like to do in your free time? I've always played a lot of sports. I still play hockey. I am learning mixed martial arts (MMA) with some friends in town. I do trail running, and once a year I recruit 20 or 30 people to do the Tough Mudder up in Vermont as a fundraiser for the Avielle Foundation. I started doing Tough Mudders after a friend of mine asked me to join him for one as a fundraiser for the Newtown Action Alliance, then that following year we started it for the Avielle Foundation. We had 28 people run this past year. It's a blast.

Do you have a favorite book? The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. As of today that is probably my favorite book. I am rereading

What is your favorite travel destination? I have been all over the states and Europe. I have been to some breathtaking places like Alaska and Montana, but my favorite vacation spot would be Cape Cod. We are fortunate enough to have access to a family house along with my wife's extended family, so we go up there every year. We walk to the beach, go clamming, sailing, hanging out with cousins. That's our favorite.

What is the best thing about Newtown? Even though it is a relatively large town, it has that small town feel. We have made some wonderful friends over the years. I don't think I will ever take for granted the support and care there is in this town, especially after the tragedy.

My parents, because they have instilled in me the importance of family. I still see my family quite a bit.Who has been the greatest influence in your life?

If you could choose one person to spend the day with, who would you choose? I would probably say both my grandfathers, because they died when I was in my twenties and I never got to know them well enough. But if I am choosing someone who is still alive, I would say Elon Musk, because he is a technology visionary. He has some pretty wild ideas.

What is your favorite TV shows? Game of Thrones, but no one watches it with me. Silicon Valley, too.I would say

Reggae. Bon Iver is awesome. What is your favorite music genre?
