The Newtown Junior Women’s Club has launched a recycling fundraiser.

NJWC is seeking donations of used ink and toner cartridges (laser, inkjet, fax, copier and MFP all-in-one) and used cellphones.

Collection boxes are located at Newtown Transfer Station on Ethan Allen Road; Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street; C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street; St Rose School, 46 Church Hill Road; Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road; Berkshire Motors, 25 Berkshire Road; and Danbury City Hall, 155 Deer Hill Avenue in Danbury.

All proceeds from this event will be returned to the community through the support of programs such as Back-to-School Backpacks, Thanksgiving Baskets, and Holiday Tag-A-Gift.

In addition, the collection will also help the environment by reducing the amount of nonbiodegradable waste in landfills.

Newtown Junior Women’s Club is a nonprofit volunteer organization promoting civic, educational, and social programs. For additional information, visit www.newtownjuniorwomen.com.
