Dolores Powell Sovern, 82, of Sandy Hook, died peacefully at home, November 17. She was born in Monroe, N.Y., August 31, 1929, a daughter of Margaret (McCloy) and John Powell. Mrs Sovern was the wife of the late Norman Sovern.
She was a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs School and before her retirement in 1994, was a longtime officer of General Investors, Inc, of New York City. Mrs Sovern was previously a resident of Bayside, Queens, N.Y., before moving to Sandy Hook. She was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael S. Sovern, and his wife Maureen, of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Patricia Michels, and her husband Gregory, and Mauria Dundie, and her husband Matthew, all of New Fairfield. She leaves four beloved grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown November 21. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery.
