As the season of Advent begins, this service will feature songs of this season. The Taizé tradition of musical worship began years ago in the ecumenical French monastic community called Taizé. Held at Trinity in the darkened, richly resonant space, the Taizé services provide an uncomplicated framework for quiet meditation, reflection, readings, and music.
There is no Eucharist or sermon during a Taizé service. The experience has the opportunity of deepening oneâs faith through the power of prayer. All are encouraged to participate as the Spirit moves them, whether that be in song, prayer, or quiet meditation.
Under the direction of Music Minister Fiona Smith Sutherland, a group of musicians and a vocalist join together to lead the music in the beautiful, candlelit nave of Trinity Church.
Trinity is located at the flagpole, 36 Main Street.
