Bomb Threat Sentenced

BRIDGEPORT (AP) — A Connecticut prison inmate has been sentenced to 18 months for mailing a bomb threat to a federal agency.

Federal prosecutors said 41-year-old Glen Sharkany was sentenced November 20 in Bridgeport.

Authorities say on September 29, 2008, Sharkany sent a letter to the Social Security Administration in Norwalk. They say the mailing included a diagram of an explosive device and a threat to blow up that office and an Internal Revenue Service office.

Sharkany is already serving five years for sexual assault. He is held at the Garner Correctional Institution in Newtown.
