Norman Coopersmith

Norman Coopersmith, 93, of Newtown, beloved husband of the late Beverly (Levine) Coopersmith, died peacefully at Masonicare of Newtown November 21. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the son of the late Fanny and Abe Coopersmith.

He attended schools in Brooklyn and had worked as an auto service manager for the former Merit Lincoln-Mercury Automotive Company. He served in the Army during World War II and was a longtime member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

His son Dr Richard Coopersmith, and wife Claudia; his daughter-in-law Andrea Coopersmith; grandchildren Bene Coopersmith, Aaron Coopersmith, Alexander Coopersmith, Jordan Coopersmith, and Lisa Schwartz; and two great-grandchildren survive Mr Coopersmith. His son Victor Coopersmith, and sisters Ruth Coopersmith and Sophie Trenchard predeceased him.

A graveside service will be held at Section 17 of Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, Tuesday, November 24, at 1 pm. There will be no calling hours.

Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
