To the Editor:

I would like to thank the residents of Newtown for once again stepping up to help the volunteer firefighters of Newtown fill the shelves of the FAITH Food Pantry.  This was our 14th year and it was a successful one!  Between Big Y & Stop & Shop supermarkets, we collected 70 turkeys, 2 hams, 167 boxes of food and just over $1,000 in cash and gift cards!

Thank you to Curtis Packaging for their donations of boxes to help us collect the goods.  I must also thank all of the volunteers who came out this past Saturday and Sunday, along with the firefighters, came their spouses and children. Thank you to the stores also for working with us to give us a place to collect.  I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
