Wisdom House Acreage Expands

LITCHFIELD — Sister Ann Gray, DW, province leader of the United States Province of the Daughters of Wisdom, announced recently that the congregation has purchased 15.8 acres of land along East Litchfield Road. The land is contiguous to Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center.

The acquisition of the land supports the mission of the Daughters of Wisdom, which includes a commitment to care for creation. The new parcel contains forests, wetlands, and a small amount of grassland.

“Setting this aside will enhance the reflective environment of the retreat center,” said Sister Gray.

Sister Rosemarie Greco, DW, the administrator of Wisdom House since 1990, said, “We believe that Divine Wisdom is found in creation. Caring for the land is a sacred trust for us now and for future generations. We share this commitment with many in Litchfield and beyond.”

Wisdom House is an interfaith retreat and conference center presenting programs in spirituality, education and the arts. It offers hospitality for groups meetings and specializes in service to the not-for-profit community. Its main entrance is at 229 East Litchfield Road.
